A generation after pioneer families like the Millicans, Storments, and Fountains staked claims on the land around the McKenzie, their children posed for this photograph. This second generation, with the help of other folks in the area, built the first church in Walterville in 1911. This church served the families until it burned down in 1932, but the families quickly rebuilt it. Many of the descendants of these pioneer families still worship today in the church their families built.
