THE THIRD LEABURG SCHOOLHOUSE c. 1926

In 1923, the community of Leaburg built a third schoolhouse and that schoolhouse is the building you see here today. Students of all grades learned and grew here until it finally closed in 1970. In the years that followed, several attempts were made to renovate the old schoolhouse, but none were successful until Ruth Mills and Rita Stadel took over the project. Today, the library serves the community with over 16,000 books, a colorful children’s room, and high speed internet access, all provided by the generosity of their patrons.
