NIMROD LODGE c.1917

In the early 1900s, Billy Price opened up a modern hunting and fishing lodge called the Nimrod Inn that advertised running water, modern plumbing, a piano, and even electric light! During this time, the word nimrod was synonymous with hunter, so Billy Price was most likely doing his best to invite outdoorsmen who liked to fish and hunt. The name of the Inn spread to the surrounding community and soon Nimrod, Oregon was born. Guests needed to take a ferry across the McKenzie to get to the lodge. Visitors today can still see some of the original foundation.
