The First Peoples found a way to the crest of the Cascade Mountains from the McKenzie River Valley and over the pass before anyone else. Notable Pioneer and Agent for Indian Affairs Felix Scott made the trail known to everyone. Stagecoach routes changed to motor stages like this one that advertised throughout the country views of the Three Sisters, vast and beautiful forests, breath-taking waterfalls, and vast lava-fields. Today the McKenzie Pass is still one of the most popular scenic routes in Oregon.
